M\u00e9moire de l\u2019Avenir (MDA) \/ Humanities, Arts and Society (HAS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

will bring together artists from near and far<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for a transdisciplinary group exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will highlight the formal and conceptual qualities of works that engage with today\u2019s social and political challenges.
Across diverse media, the participating artists draw inspiration
from past works or ideas
to reflect on contemporary themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their creations evoke moments of joy and pain, lives shaped by memories and repetition,
and the pressing need to reconsider the present.
Their work invites us to imagine possible futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by nature or by the masters of the past,
these contemporary artists reinterpret historical messages
using new tools and languages,
creating a living dialogue with the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Nothing new under the sun”.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yet, though stories and images may appear familiar,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

each telling becomes new when filtered through the lens of the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To revisit the past<\/p>\n\n\n\n

is to experience narratives and images anew,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to restore meaning in the now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout history, philosophers, thinkers, and artists<\/p>\n\n\n\n

across disciplines<\/p>\n\n\n\n

have questioned the role of creativity in society,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

seeking to act as engaged and influential members of their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exhibition will present works by 8 to 10 artists<\/p>\n\n\n\n

working in diverse media,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

whose practices explore these themes both literally and conceptually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proverb \u201cNothing new under the sun,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

attributed to King Solomon,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

conveys a sense of weariness<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with the recurring cycles of human life
and the apparent futility of endless pursuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet, this exhibition affirms the enduring power of form and idea,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

celebrating artistic expressions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

that sharply engage with the social and political issues of our time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your application should include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Visuals of the artwork (image, video, audio, etc.) or performance proposal (HD if possible)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Short description of the work or performance (max. 500 characters)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Brief artist statement (max. 600 characters)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Short biography (max. 300 characters)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Links to your website or social media (Instagram, etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CONDITIONS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e9moire de l\u2019Avenir is a non-profit organisation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

operating as a cooperative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each participating artist contributes \u20ac300,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

sharing production costs 50\/50 with MDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

100% of artwork sales go to the artist \u2013 MDA takes no commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MDA COMMITS TO:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Curating and installing the exhibition<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Providing an 80 m\u00b2 exhibition space<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Creating a dedicated page on the MDA website<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Designing and sending out newsletters<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Creating a digital invitation (10\u00d710 format) and printing 200 copies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Producing a digital catalogue, copyright-free for the artists, with one printed copy provided per artist<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Managing press relations and communications<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Hosting a public opening event<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Including the exhibition in MDA\u2019s open cultural mediation programme<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcoming visitors Thursday to Saturday, 11 am to 7 pm (or by appointment)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

ABOUT THE COLLABORATION WITH MDA<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Since 2003, M\u00e9moire de l\u2019Avenir has worked to broaden access to the arts through awareness-raising events held throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Priority will be given to proposals by artists who share our values and ethical commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
