Le terme est important, car il ne s\u2019agit jamais pour Michal Vittels de dresser un portrait ou de capturer l\u2019essence ou le caract\u00e8re d\u2019une personne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">Depuis le d\u00e9but de sa carri\u00e8re c\u2019est la figure humaine, en particulier celle de la femme, qui est son principal sujet d\u2019investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">Si elle travaille parfois d\u2019apr\u00e8s photographies, souvent \u00e0 partir de sa biblioth\u00e8que d\u2019images mentales,&nbsp; ce sont les positions qui lui servent de mod\u00e8le, jamais les visages. Ses figures, seules, dispos\u00e9es frontalement, statiques, sur fond g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement neutre ou ne sugg\u00e9rant aucun lieu particulier, pr\u00e9sentent des expressions attentives, le regard port\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur ou \u00e0 l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur. Face \u00e0 l\u2019agitation du monde, ses personnages&nbsp; s\u2019articulent autour de projections personnelles, prises dans un voyage int\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">A travers elles l\u2019artiste dresse des autoportraits.&nbsp; C\u2019est le surgissement d\u2019\u00e9motions qui la traverse qui viennent habiter ses toiles. Par les postures tr\u00e8s peu mobiles de ses figures, l\u2019artiste cherche \u00e0 faire \u00e9merger ce qui rel\u00e8ve du souffle de l\u2019esprit, du mouvement de l\u2019\u00e2me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">\u00ab&nbsp;<em>Pour se repr\u00e9senter soi-m\u00eame, il faut essayer de se peindre comme si on \u00e9tait quelqu\u2019un d\u2019autre<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb Lucian Freud (1922-2011)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">Cette ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 du portrait\/autoportrait que l\u2019on retrouve dans la peinture de Michal Vittels, est une constante dans l\u2019histoire de l\u2019art en tant que l\u2019\u0153uvre est toujours d\u2019une mani\u00e8re ou d\u2019une autre une incarnation de son auteur.trice par le processus artistique, physique ou intellectuel d\u00e9ploy\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">L\u2019autoportrait est autant un reflet qu\u2019une conscience de soi disait \u00e9galement Lucian Freud. Michal Vittels ne se peint pas comme elle se voit mais comme elle se ressent. Ce m\u00e9canisme rel\u00e8ve d\u2019une affirmation de soi et de sa singularit\u00e9. Mais peindre d\u2019autres corps que le sien lui permet aussi une mise \u00e0 distance avec elle-m\u00eame dans une recherche \u00e0 la fois d\u2019universalit\u00e9 des passions humaines et d\u2019invitation pour le spectateur \u00e0 projeter sa propre existence dans les figures de ses toiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">Dans&nbsp;<em>La rencontre du visage : une revisite du portrait contemporain<\/em>, Marie Bonneau explique que pour le philosophe Emmanuel L\u00e9vinas, avoir acc\u00e8s au regard de l&rsquo;autre c&rsquo;est avoir acc\u00e8s \u00e0 son int\u00e9riorit\u00e9, \u00e0 une proximit\u00e9. Le regard appelle l&rsquo;autre, exigeant presque une r\u00e9ponse. Le regard va \u00abr\u00e9v\u00e9ler la transcendance du visage, sa hauteur \u00bb, \u00e9tant comme une ouverture vers l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur. Gr\u00e2ce au regard, le visage devient parole pour L\u00e9vinas, il n&rsquo;est pas que caract\u00e9ristiques physiques2&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">Michal Vittels, dans ses peintures, se sert \u00e0 la fois du regard ou du visage de l\u2019autre pour s\u2019y incarner et en m\u00eame temps cr\u00e9er cet espace, parfois inconfortable, pour le regardeur qui, face \u00e0 un alter ego ou \u00e0 l\u2019Autre, tente de comprendre ce qui se pense sous ses yeux. Le regard tient donc une place capitale dans les \u0153uvres de Michal Vittels&nbsp; car il est le medium d\u2019un dialogue int\u00e9rieur et d\u2019une conversation que l\u2019artiste cherche \u00e0 initier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:clamp(14px, 0.875rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.114), 15px);\">Dans ces figures l\u2019artiste trace les contours d\u2019une immanence de l\u2019\u00eatre rendue perceptible par sa pr\u00e9sence qui surgit des positions -lascives, hi\u00e9ratique, allong\u00e9es-&nbsp; combin\u00e9es aux regards, tant\u00f4t per\u00e7ants, vagues, inqui\u00e9tants. Le personnage de cette nouvelle (\u00e9crite pour \u00eatre jou\u00e9e) se d\u00e9bat int\u00e9rieurement face \u00e0 l\u2019hostilit\u00e9 du monde. Sa folie dialogue avec celle de notre \u00e9poque et de ses paradoxes.
